Welcome to our database on seed dispersal
The D³ Database provides information that is related to seed dispersal of plant species. Currently, the database covers more than 5 000 taxa (trait coverage see Further Information) and comprises
- images of diaspores (= dispersal unit), fruits, seeds, and infructescences,
- heritable traits related to seed dispersal,
- ranking indices that allow an assessment how well a species is adapted to a certain seed dispersal mode (e.g. wind dispersal) in relation to a larger species set, and
- information from literature on seed dispersal.
See Further information to get more information about traits and ranking indices.
Furthermore, in the Download area the scientific article within a dataset of 2,662 Central European taxa is freely available.
